UP ST Commission to file case against insult of Dr Ambedkar

Lucknow, May 1 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission Chairman, Baijnath Rawat, said on Thursday that the Commission has taken a suo motu cognisance of the insult of the architect of the Constitution Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and will file a case against the culprits.
The Chairman said that the Commission took suo motu cognisance of the matter and has asked the Lucknow Police Commissioner to register a case against the culprits.
It may be noted that the poster of Samajwadi Lohia Vahini displayed the picture of Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on half of Dr Ambedkar's picture.
Rawat condemned this act and said that insulting great men and glorifying anti-national elements is the nature of SP.
He said that UP Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission took suo motu cognisance and wrote a letter to the Lucknow Police Commissioner to take action against the culprits by registering a case under the SC/ST Atrocities Prevention Act 1989.
He has asked to submit a report through an informed officer before the Commission on May five.
