Lucknow, Mar 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the main opposition Samajwadi Party for its MLA from Maharashtra Abu Azmi praising Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and demanded that he should be either 'condemned' and 'expelled' from the party or sent to UP for 'proper treatment'.
During the debate on the annual budget for the financial year 2025-26 in the Legislative Council, the CM slammed the SP, demanding to condemn and expel Azmi from the party immediately or to send him to UP, which he said does not hesitate in giving a proper treatment to such individuals.
Responding sharply on Abu Azmi statement terming Aurangzeb a 'great administrator', Yogi accused the SP of abandoning India's cultural heritage and straying from the principles of its ideologue Dr Ram Manohar Lohia.
