Chandigarh, Apr 13 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Counter Intelligence (CI) police, Ferozepur arrested two key operatives of a terror module run by Germany-based Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon, a close associate of the Goldy Brar-Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and foiled plans of Pakistan’s ISI to disturb peace and harmony in the region, said DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav on Sunday.
He said that besides the arrests of the two operatives, Jagga Singh and Manjinder Singh, the counter intelligence police also recovered one 2.8 kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) containing 1.6 kg RDX and one remote control.
He said preliminary investigations have revealed that the IED was intended for a targeted terror attack.
DGP Yadav also said that the NIA has declared a Rs 10 lakh reward on Goldy Dhillon.
An FIR has been registered at Police Station SSOC, Mohali under the Explosive Substances Act.
