High alert in UP after Pahalgam terror attack

Lucknow, Apr 23 (UNI) A high alert has been issued across Uttar Pradesh after the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, police sources said here on Wednesday.
Police sources said that Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar has issued a high alert for UP Police and said that the activities of terrorist and other organisations should be kept under strict surveillance in all the sensitive districts of the state and border districts of other states.
The sources said that apart from this, directives have been issued to exercise extra caution on rail, road and air traffic, keep a special eye on the anti-social, anti-national elements that have come to light earlier and ensure special security of tourists.
Police sources said that directives have also been issued to keep a special eye on the security of foreign tourists, keep a strict vigil on the areas adjacent to the international border of Nepal and bus-railway stations.
The DGP has directed to ensure the security of important religious places, especially Ayodhya, Kashi, Mathura and Taj Mahal in accordance with the prescribed standard operating procedure (SOP).
