UPPCL appeal to keep Holika Dahan away from poles and transformers

Lucknow, Mar 12 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has issued a special advisory for consumers to celebrate Holi safely while urging timely payment of electricity bills and recovery of dues, official sources said here on Wednesday.
Sources said that the government aims to ensure that residents face no inconvenience during the festivities while also strengthening the financial health of the power department.
The UPPCL has urged the people to avoid lighting Holika Dahan under or near electricity poles, transformers, and power lines. Burning aluminum wires or electric cables could lead to serious accidents.
Consumers are advised to maintain a safe distance from the electrical infrastructure to enjoy the festival without disruptions. Besides, the UPPCL has extended Holi greetings to all consumers and reaffirmed its commitment to a safe and joyous celebration.
The advisory also stresses the importance of timely bill payments. Electricity department employees actively contact defaulters through door-to-door visits and phone calls, requesting them to clear outstanding dues.
The UPPCL has warned that non-payment of bills may result in disconnection, causing consumers inconvenience. The government has directed the power department to expedite revenue recovery efforts to strengthen the sector's financial stability.
Ensuring an uninterrupted power supply during Holi remains a top priority for the Yogi government. The UPPCL has been directed to prevent power cuts and uphold safety standards throughout the festival.
Besides, efforts are being intensified to make the electricity bill recovery drive more effective. The government believes timely payments will benefit consumers and enhance the efficiency of the electricity department.
