Himachal braces for major spell of rain, snowfall this week

Shimla, Mar 10 (UNI) After experiencing mainly dry and warm weather for the past three days, Himachal Pradesh is set to witness a significant shift in weather conditions.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a major spell of rain, hailstorms, thunderstorms, and snowfall across the state from March 14 to 15. This inclement weather is expected to bring down temperatures, which have been above normal in most parts of the state.

The IMD has also warned of widespread rain and snowfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, particularly on March 14 and 15.
Temperatures across the state have been normal to above normal, with nighttime and early morning temperatures rising by two to three degrees.
The minimum temperatures recorded at key stations include Shimla at 9.5°C, Jubberhati airport 12 degrees, Bhuntar at 11.6°C, Kalpa at 3.6°C, Dharamshala at 5.2°C, Una at 7.0°C, Nahan at 11.3°C, Keylong at -2.3°C, Palampur at 10.5°C, Solan at 8.0°C, Manali at 8.1°C, Kangra at 13.5°C, Mandi at 12.9°C, Bilaspur at 12.0°C, Chamba at 13.3°C, and Dalhousie at 8.6°C.
