Mumbai, Mar 27 (UNI) Indian squash stalwarts Joshna Chinappa and Anahat Singh have stormed into the semifinals of the Indian Open 2025, setting up a much-anticipated clash at the Bombay Gymkhana’s outdoor glass court.
Veteran Joshna Chinappa, 38, showcased her experience against top seed Akanksha Salunkhe in a gruelling five-game encounter. The former Asian champion edged out Salunkhe 3-2 (12-10, 13-11, 9-11, 9-11, 11-5) in a 56-minute battle.
On the other hand, 17-year-old Anahat Singh displayed remarkable composure against Egypt’s Nadien Elhammamy, rallying from a 1-2 deficit to clinch a hard-fought 3-2 (11-6, 12-14, 8-11, 11-6, 11-9) victory.
