Four killed as private bus collides with lorry

Eluru (AP), Mar 6 (UNI) In all four people, including two women, were killed and 16 injured when a private travel bus collided with a lorry at Chodimella village here on Thursday.

Police said the private travel bus was going to Kakinada from Hyderabad. It collided with a lorry killing three passengers instantaneously. One more passenger died while being taken to hospital. Two of the deceased were women.
The driver of the bus was also among the dead. The injured were admitted to the GGH here. The deceased are yet to be identified, police said.

Eluru district Collector K Vetri Selvi visited the injured in the GGH. The injured passengers told the media that the driver drove the bus at high speed which resulted in him losing control over the bus. After the accident, the bus overturned across the road. The bus was later removed from the road and the traffic on the busy Chennai-Kolkata was cleared.
