Couple in 2-wheeler falls from overbridge, killed, daughter hurt, CM announces solatium

Chennai, May 4 (UNI) A middle-aged couple was killed and their 12-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries when the two-wheeler in which they were travelling fell from an under construction new road overbridge in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu on Saturday night.
Police said Nagaraj (44), his wife Anandhi (38) and their daughter Deekshaya (12) were on their
way home and were crossing the bridge near Kullaipaalayam area on the Dharapuram-Kangeyam road, when the mishap occurred.
While the couple were killed on the spot,their daughter sustained serious injuries and was admitted
to a private hospital in Coimbatore.
Meanwhile, expressing deep grief and anguish over the accident, Chief Minister M K Stalin on Sunday condoled the death of couple and directed the hospital authorities to provide the best of treatment to their injured daughter.
He also announced a solatium of Rs three lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs one lakh to the injured Deekshaya.
