Bengaluru, Feb 12 (UNI) Boeing India President Salil Gupte has emphasised the growing trade ties between India and the US, highlighting that the aerospace giant generates over Rs 10,000 crores per year in exports from India, making it the leading foreign Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) under the 'Make in India' initiative.
"We generate over Rs 10,000 crores per year in exports, which is approximately 30–40% larger than our next biggest competitor. Most of these exports go from India to the US. At the same time, Indian airlines are also purchasing billions of dollars worth of US airplanes for both civil and defence purposes every year. This is a wonderful example of a great two-way street when it comes to trade," Gupte told a section reporters at Aero India here.
He further underlined the importance of strong US-India relations for Boeing, stating that collaboration between the two nations is crucial for the company's success in both civil aviation and defence.
