Collector asks officials to beef up security at EVM godowns

Kakinada, June 18 (UNI) District Collector Shan Mohan has instructed the officials of Revenue, fire services and elections departments to beef up security at the EVM godowns to ensure safety of the EVMs and VVPats.
He said this to officials after inspecting the EVM godowns near the Collectorate along with the representatives of the recognised political parties here today, under the instructions from the Central Election Commission every month inspecting the EVM godowns and sending a report on EVMs safety.
Similarly for every three months along with the recognised political parties the godowns are being inspected thread bare, ensuring safety of the EVMs and VVPats, he added.
District Revenue officer J Venkatrao, district assistant fire officer Subbarao, Kakinada urban Tahasildar V. Jithendra, Collectorate election cell deputy Tahasildar M Jagannadham, representatives of recognised political parties G Saibaba (TDP), S Apparao (BSP), P Kishore (Congress), M. Satyanarayana (Janasena) MVV Ramana (CPM) accompanied the Collector during the inspection of EVMs and VV Pats.
