Bengaluru stampede: Suspended ACP moves CAT against suspension

Bengaluru, June 9 (UNI) Suspended Additional Commissioner of Police Vikas Kumar on Monday filed a petition before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), challenging the Karnataka government's decision to suspend him in connection with the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede case, which claimed 11 lives.
The petition was filed at the CAT's Bengaluru bench under Original Application (OA) category, with Diary No. 607/2025, as per the e-filing portal details. The respondent in the matter is the Chief Secretary to the Government of Karnataka.
Vikas Kumar, who was among the senior officers held responsible for alleged lapses in crowd control and safety measures during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL victory celebration event last Wednesday, has sought relief against what he terms an "arbitrary and hasty disciplinary action".
