Karnataka HC stays criminal proceedings against MLA Yatnal

Bengaluru, Apr 1 (UNI) The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday stayed the proceedings in a criminal case against MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal over his alleged derogatory remarks made against actress Ranya Rao.
Patil, who was recently expelled from the BJP for alleged anti-party activities, had moved the High Court seeking quashing of the First Information Report (FIR) registered against him in the matter.
Justice Pradeep Singh Yerur, after hearing preliminary arguments, directed the state government to submit its response and posted the matter for further hearing in two weeks. Meanwhile, the court ordered a stay on the criminal proceedings against Yatnal.

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 10 (UNI) The Kerala government is charting out a roadmap to make the state a hub for adventure tourism, Minister P A Mohamed Riyas said on Thursday
“Adventure sports, such as trekking, cycling and surfing are gaining popularity among people of all age groups. The Tourism Department has identified this trend and is strengthening its efforts with the help of KATPS (Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society) to promote adventure tourism,” the Tourism Minister revealed after inaugurating a four-day International Surfing Festival at Edava beach in Varkala.
