AP: 48 red sander logs seized, 4 smugglers arrested

Kadapa, June 8 (UNI) The Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) personnel seized 48 red sander logs and arrested four smugglers at the Tamballapalai forest area.

DSP G Balireddy told the media that on the directions of RSASTF SP L Subba Rayudu, a task force team led by RI Chiranjeevulu and RSI Muralidhar Reddy, accompanied by forest officers Jaya Prasad Rao and Mohan Reddy, conducted combing in the Thamballapalle forest area. They spotted a motorcycle at the Vepurikota dumping yard area.

When the task force personnel were nearing the motorcycle, some people started fleeing from the area. The task force personnel chased and apprehended four persons, who told the task force personnel that they concealed 48 red sander logs behind bushes.

The task force personnel seized the logs. All the arrested belonged to Annamayya district. The seized red sander logs were shifted to the task force police station in Tirupati and CI Suresh Kumar registered a case.
