Pondy Univ signs MoU with RIS

Chennai, June 14 (UNI) Pondicherry University has entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS),
a premier policy research institute and think tank.
The partnership, coordinated by Prof. Subramanyam Raju of the UMISARC Centre for South Asian Studies, School of Social Sciences and International Studies, marks a major step toward strengthening academic-policy linkages.
The MoU was formally signed during the Conference on Global South and Triangular Cooperation held in New Delhi and, jointly organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, RIS, Forum for Indian Development and Cooperation (FIDC), and DAKSHIN – Global South Centre of Excellence, a PIB release said here on Saturday.
RIS had organised various events in association with 101 Universities across the country on G20 during India’s presidency.
In continuation of its collaboration with Universities under the University Connect Hub, the RIS had chosen 21 Universities including Pondicherry University and signed MoU with them.
As part of the RIS University Connect Hub, this collaboration is poised to open up interesting opportunities for both students and faculty. The MoU will facilitate joint research, capacity-building programs, and immersive policy dialogues on global economic development, South-South cooperation, and international public policy.
Students will benefit from exposure to high-impact policy discussions and internships, while faculty members can engage in collaborative research, policy workshops, and knowledge exchange with
one of India’s most respected think tanks.This alliance reinforces Pondicherry University's commitment to internationalisation,interdisciplinary learning, and policy-relevant scholarship.
