Chennai, May 8 (UNI) In line with the pattern seen over the
years, Girls once again outshone boys in the Plus-2 Board
exams conducted by the Tamil Nadu government, results
of which were announced on Thursday.
The results were released by the Tamil Nadu Directorate
of Government Examinations a day ahead of the scheduled
date of tomorrow.
The state recorded an impressive overall pass percentage
of 95.03%.
A total of 7,92,494 students appeared for the exams. Among
them, 4,19,316 were girls and 3,73,178 were boys.
Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 96.70%,
while boys recorded a pass percentage of 93.16%.
The pass percentage of girls was 3.54 % higher than boys.
The overall pass percentage this year was 0.47 % higher
when compared to 94.56 per cent last year (2024).
While the government schools recorded 91.94% pass percentage,
government-aided schools performed even better at 95.71 per cent
and private schools topped the list registering 98.88 pass percentage
this year.
There were 10,049 absentees.
District-wise, Ariyalur topped the chart with a remarkable pass percentage
of 98.82%, followed by Erode (97.98%), Tiruppur (97.53%), Coimbatore
(97.48%) and Kanyakumari (97.01%).
Computer Science subject registered the highest number of centum with
9,536 students securing 100 out of 100, followed by Chemistry (3,181),
Mathematics (3,022), Commerce (1,624), and Accountancy (1,240).
