TN Guv institutes award for best PG research in Organic farming

Chennai, June 7 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi on Saturday
instituted the award ‘Nammazhvar Best Post Graduate Research
in Organic Farming’ on the occasion of the World Environment Day
2025.
A Raj Bhavan communique said the award is instituted to carry forward
the enduring legacy of the great agriculture scientist and environmentalist
late Dr. G. Nammazhvar and his pioneer work in the field of organic
farming and environmental conservation.
This award aims to inspire researchers to advance organic farming,
supporting India’s progress in sustainable agriculture and its growing
presence in the global organic sector.
The award will be conferred annually by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural
University, Coimbatore to the student who has done the best significant
and noteworthy research in Organic Farming.
It will be awarded during the annual convocation of the University.
The award will carry a cash award of Rs 50,000, a gold medal and
a citation.
