Hyderabad, June 18 (UNI) Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the Congress government has sanctioned Indiramma houses to all eligible residents in Vasalamarri, the village formerly adopted by former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
The Minister stated that 205 beneficiaries have been identified and will receive house sanction papers on Thursday, fulfilling the promise of the Congress government under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
He accused the previous BRS government of betraying the villagers after grand promises were made in 2021 during a public meeting and lunch held by KCR.
"After KCR announced the adoption of Vasalamarri in November 2020 and pledged to turn it into a 'golden village,' not a single house was built," Ponguleti said. "Instead, houses were demolished to widen the road to his farmhouse, leaving residents in temporary shelters."
He added that the Congress government conducted a fresh survey and took immediate action to rectify the injustice. "What KCR failed to deliver in three years, we are now delivering with accountability," he said.
The Minister will also visit Bhuvanagiri and Suryapet districts on Thursday to inspect ongoing construction of Indiramma houses in Banda Somaram and Vibhalapur villages, an official statement said on Wednesday.
