Karnataka Budget: BJP slams Congress for "minority appeasement", Cong snaps back

Bengaluru, Mar 7 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah unveiled the Rs 4.09 lakh crore state budget for 2025, focusing on welfare schemes and financial discipline on Friday.
However, what was meant to be a policy-driven announcement quickly turned into a political battleground, with the BJP branding it a ‘Halal Budget’ and alleging minority appeasement. The Chief Minister hit back, accusing the opposition of indulging in communal politics and misleading the people.
The controversy erupted as soon as the budget was presented, with the BJP calling it a ‘Pakistan Budget’ and accusing the Congress government of prioritising minorities. The party’s social media wing amplified the attack, sharing an image of Siddaramaiah wearing a skull cap—an attempt to reinforce its claims of minority appeasement.
