TN Court awards death sentence to murder accused, lifer to 4 others

Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu), Mar 6 (UNI) A lower court in Tirunelveli awarded the death penalty to a 40-year-old man, who was the prime accused in a murder case, and sentenced four others to life sentences on Thursday.
Second Additional Sessions Judge (In-charge) Suresh Kumar awarded the death sentence to R Selvaraj after holding him guilty of conspiring and murdering R Vaikuntam of Palayam Chettikulam near Palayamkottai, while awarding life imprisonment to his relatives Antony Prabhakaran (40), D Arul Philip (38), his brother D Anto Nallaiah (28) and D Babu Alexander in connection with the murder.
According to the prosecution, Selvaraj and his relatives attempted to murder A Perumal in 2016 over enmity.
