Miss World contestants from 22 countries to visit Buddhavan for Buddha Purnima celebrations

Hyderabad, May 12 (UNI) As part of the ongoing Miss World 2025 festivities, contestants representing 22 countries from the Asia-Oceania region will visit Buddhavanam, the Buddhist theme park at Nagarjunasagar, on Monday evening at 1700 hours to celebrate Buddha Purnima.

The visiting group includes delegates from India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Turkey, China, Thailand, and Armenia. These participants are part of Group-4 in the global beauty pageant, which includes contestants from 120 countries worldwide.

During their visit, the contestants will take part in spiritual activities near the grand Buddha statues located at the stupa in Buddhavanam. They will offer prayers and participate in rituals in accordance with the customs of their respective countries, symbolising global unity and cultural diversity.

Tourism Department officials confirmed that the contestants were transported in a special bus from Hyderabad and are scheduled to stop briefly at Vijay Vihar Guest House near Chintapalli in Nalgonda district for rest and a photo session. From there, they will proceed directly to Buddhavanam.

The field visit is part of the Telangana government's broader initiative, guided by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, to promote state tourism by leveraging global platforms like the Miss World competition.

All arrangements for the high-profile visit have been completed by tourism officials, an official statement said.
