Hyderabad: NIRDPR organises three-day Exposure visit for 200 Mukhiyas from Bihar

Hyderabad, Apr 17 (UNI) Hyderabad-based National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) on Thursday organised a three-day ‘Exposure Visit’ for the first batch of 200 Mukhiyas from Bihar.
The Exposure visit was organised in connection with Bihar Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development (BIPARD) organising a seven-day Training for Elected Representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, specifically for Mukhiyas --- Gram Panchayat Presidents.
During the visit, these panchayat representatives will be visiting few best performing Gram Panchayats in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh up to April 19 coordinated by NIRDPR.
This event was inaugurated at NIRDPR campus here by JRK Rao, IAS (Retd.), a Bihar Cadre Civil Servant presently heading the Artificial Intelligence Cell at NIRDPR.
He appreciated the efforts of the Bihar Government for providing a lifetime opportunity for the Mukhiyas to learn from other States.
In his introductory remarks on the occasion, NIRDPR Director General Dr. G. Narendra Kumar highlighted the need for cross-learning for the Panchayats by giving a few examples from the best-performing gram panchayats from southern states, particularly the best practices from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In his welcome address,Dr Anjan Kumar Bhanja, Associate Professor & Head, Centre for Panchayati Raj highlighted the role of NIRDPR in building the capacities of Panchayati Raj Institutions across the country.
Officials from BIPARD Gaya joined this event online.
