AIADMK GS Edappadi Palaniswami turns 71

Chennai, May 12 (UNI) AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the
Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Edappadi K Palaniswamy turned
71 on Monday.
It was a low key celebration for the party cadres, who marked the occasion
by distributing welfare measures to the people across the state.
Leaders of various wings of the AIADMK also distributed milch cows and
calves to farmers in several districts of the State to sustain their livelihood.
Apart from organising blood donation camps, they also offered Annadhanam
(free meals) to the people across the State in temples and other places.
Former Minister and senior AIADMK leader Ms B Valarmathi offered Annadhanam
to the cadres and public at the party office in the city.
Mr Palaniswami had advised the party cadres to refrain from any celebrations
in view of the tension in the border following the launch of Operation Sindoor
by the Indian Armed Forces to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack.
The former Chief Minister also advised the party functionaries and cadres not to
meet him to extend their greetings on the occasion.
BJP Leaders including former State Chief K Annamalai and incumbent President
Nainar Nagendra, who is also the Party's Legislature Party leader, and leaders of
various parties extended their greetings to Mr Palaniswami on the occasion.
