CM Reddy is embarrassing Telangana with failed governance: BJP

Hyderabad, May 6 (UNI) The Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accusing him of driving the state into administrative and financial turmoil and betraying the trust of the electorate.

In a sharply worded statement on Tuesday, BJP State Chief Spokesperson and Media In-Charge N V Subash said the state's image had suffered an “irreparable dent” under Revanth Reddy’s leadership.

“It is deeply disturbing that the Chief Minister himself is openly admitting that his government is bankrupt and unable to even pay pensions to the poor,” Subash stated.

He criticised the Congress government's pre-election promises as deceptive and unrealistic. “Who asked the Congress to make such tall claims and false assurances in its manifesto, despite knowing that the state was already reeling under massive debt? Revanth Reddy, who opposed land sales during the BRS regime, is now shamelessly attempting to mortgage government lands for a few crores,” he alleged.

Highlighting the Chief Minister’s recent plea to protesting government employees and TGSRTC staff, Subash questioned the contradiction.

“Revanth Reddy once claimed his party had financial experts who could resolve the crisis. Today, he is urging trade unions not to strike and warning that further demands could collapse the system. Is this the efficient governance he promised?” Subash asked.

Responding to the Chief Minister’s claim that opposition forces are trying to destabilise the Congress government, the BJP leader retorted, “There’s no need for the opposition to bring down his government—Revanth Reddy is doing that himself with his public confessions of helplessness and consistent failures.”

“If the Chief Minister feels incapable of fulfilling his promises, he should resign and let a more competent leader within his party take over—or go back to the people for a fresh mandate,” Subash demanded.

The BJP also directed criticism at Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, asserting that they too must be held accountable for misleading the people of Telangana. “They cannot absolve themselves of responsibility for endorsing the false promises made by state leaders, particularly Revanth Reddy,” Subash said.

“The people will not forgive them for their grand claims during the campaign, nor for their silence now, as Telangana faces a governance crisis,” he added.
