MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy slams KTR, defends Cong governance

Hyderabad, June 14 (UNI) Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy launched a sharp attack on BRS Working President K T Rama Rao (KTR), accusing him of evading accountability and indulging in political theatrics.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, the MP said KTR was resorting to empty rhetoric, branding him “Twitter Tillu” and remarking that while KTR's English is fluent, his arguments lack substance.

Responding to KTR’s accusations against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Kiran Kumar Reddy challenged KTR’s credibility, asking why he backed out when Revanth Reddy once dared him to undergo a drug test. “Now he’s talking about lie detector tests — if lie detectors are the solution, what are courts for?” he questioned.

The MP strongly defended the government’s actions, stating that investigating agencies were right to question KTR regarding the alleged movement of Rs 44 crore without administrative approval in the Telangana car race event. “If the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is doing its job, how is that vendetta politics?” he asked, adding, “This is not Congress’s vendetta; it is governance driven by the people’s mandate.”

Highlighting the work being done by Congress ministers at the grassroots level over the past few months, he said they have been actively addressing public grievances and ensuring delivery of welfare schemes. “Unlike KTR, who is now questioning notices, Congress is focused on governance,” he added.

Rejecting KTR’s approach to politics, the MP said, “The Assembly is like a temple of democracy. Every leader must uphold its sanctity instead of running away from accountability.”
