Telangana govt ensures increased sand supply and tackles illegal transportation

Hyderabad, Feb 15 (UNI) The Telangana government has taken significant steps to enhance the supply of sand at affordable prices while curbing illegal transportation.

As part of these efforts, the extraction of sand at designated reaches has been increased, with 1 lakh metric tons (MTs) of sand uploaded on the Telangana State Mineral Development Corporation (TGMDC) portal, doubling the previous availability of 50,000 MTs. Strict action is also being taken against lorries found transporting sand without valid waybills or carrying overloads, an official statement said on Saturday.
