Bhadradri Kothagudem (Telangana), Sep 5 (UNI) Six Maoists were killed in an encounter with police near the Raghunathpalli forest area in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Thursday.
According to reports, the police launched a combing operation in the forest areas of Raghunathpalli. During the operation, Maoists confronted the police and opened fire.
In response, the police returned fire, resulting in the deaths of six Maoists, believed to be members of the Lachanna Dalam. Among the deceased is reportedly a senior Maoist leader from Telangana.
The police confirmed that the operation is still ongoing in the area.
