NIA arrests four more arrested linked to 2022 Diwali eve bomb blast case in Coimbatore in TN

Chennai, June 18 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, the National Investigation
Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested four more accused for their links in the
offshoot of the 2022 Diwali eve car bomb blast case, in which a suicide bomber
was killed in Coimbatore.
NIA sources said it has arrested four more accused in the Tamil Nadu ISIS
Radicalisation and Recruitment case involving the Kovai Arabic college case,
an off-shoot case of Coimbatore car bomb blast case.
With this a total number of eight accused were arrested in this case so far.
Those arrested accused were identified as Ahmed Ali, Jawahar Sathik, Raja
Abullah alias MAC Raja and Sheik Dawood.
These four accused had been radicalised by Jameel Basha, the Founder of
Madras Arabic College, who along with his associates, was involved in
recruiting gullible youth and subtly infused Salafi-Jihadi ideology to them in
the guise of imparting Arabic language classes in Tamil Nadu.
The NIA had earlier arrested and chargesheeted Jameel Basha and his
associates Irshath, Syed Abdur raman and Mohd Hussain, who were using
the classrooms and social platform to carry out their anti-radicalisation and
recruitment activities.
NIA probe have revealed that the accused had promoted Khilafat ideology
and martyrdom through jihad, advocating violence and armed struggle to
establish an Islamic state after removing the democratically elected
government.
"The radicalisation and recruitment activities had led to the Coimbatore car
bomb blast in October 22, in which the suicide bomber Jameesha Mubeen
carried out a Vehicle Bomb EID attack in front of an ancient temple in
Coimbatore", the NIA said.
NIA is continuing with its investigation in the TN ISIS Radicalisation and
Recruitment case, as part of its efforts tio check radical terror activities
