TN: 26 persons injured in Jallikattu event

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Feb 23 (UNI) Twenty six persons, including bull tamers and spectators were injured in the annual Jallikattu (taming of Bulls) event in Tamil Nadu's Madurai district on Sunday. official sources said.
The sources said 650 registered bulls and 450 bull tamers from Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, Pudukottai and Tiruchirapalli districts took part in the day-long event held at Kalaignar Centenary Jallikattu Arena in Keelakarai near Alanganallur
Minister for Commercial Taxes, P. Moorthy flagged off the event, witnessed by hundreds of spectators.
