Banthia-Somani storm into semifinals of Bengaluru Open doubles event

Bengaluru, Feb 27 (UNI) The unseeded Indian duo of Siddhant Banthia and Parikshit Somani stormed into the semifinals of the DafaNews Bengaluru Open doubles event with a dominant 7-5, 6-0 victory over Nicolas Mejia and Bernard Tomic on Thursday.
The home pair will now face Australia’s Blake Bayldon and Matthew Christopher Romios for a place in the final.
Organised by the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), the Bengaluru Open is an ATP Challenger 125 tournament featuring a prize pool of USD 200,000. It holds the distinction of being India’s most prestigious international tennis event, with the singles champion earning 125 ATP ranking points.
