Santner lauds Rohit's 76-run knock in CT final

Dubai, Mar 9 (UNI) New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner heaped praise on Indian skipper Rohit Sharma for his impactful innings, acknowledging its role in defeating New Zealand and clinching the ICC Champions Trophy here on Sunday.
"The powerplay was the best time to bat, Rohit and Shubman Gill cashed in. Rohit's innings was outstanding and put us on the back foot, but we knew the game could change quickly. We kept chipping away at the wickets and stayed in the game," Santner remarked after the match.
In the final held at the Dubai International Stadium, India, led by captain Rohit Sharma, defeated New Zealand by four wickets to clinch their third Champions Trophy title. Sharma played a pivotal role, scoring 76 runs off 83 balls, while KL Rahul's unbeaten 34 ensured India reached the target of 252 runs in 49 overs.
