Hyderabad, Apr 12 (UNI) Gujarat Titans' (GT) New Zealand batsman Glenn Phillips has been ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after sustaining a serious groin injury during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 6.
According to an official IPL statement, Phillips has returned to New Zealand for further treatment. GT, who currently top the points table with four wins from five matches, are yet to announce a replacement.
Phillips, who had not featured in GT’s playing XI this season, came on as a substitute fielder after the fifth over of the SRH innings. He sustained the injury while attempting a throw during the sixth over and was seen clutching his groin immediately after releasing the ball. He limped off the field moments later with assistance from team support staff.
