Manika Batra calls on Delhi CM Rekha Gupta

New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) Indian table tennis star Manika Batra on Monday called on Delhi’s newly appointed Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to discuss key issues related to sports development in the national capital.
The meeting centred around future sports policies in Delhi, with a strong emphasis on nurturing grassroots athletes and improving the welfare of state athletes.
Following the meeting, Batra took to social media to express her appreciation for the Chief Minister’s commitment to strengthening the city’s sporting ecosystem.
"Had the honour of meeting the newly appointed Hon’ble Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta ji, today. We had a productive discussion on the new sports policies in Delhi, focusing on the development of grassroots athletes and the welfare of athletes from the state," Manika said.
"It was encouraging to see the commitment towards enhancing sports infrastructure, providing better opportunities for young athletes, and strengthening grassroots programmes to create a more robust sporting culture in Delhi. A big thank you to Hon’ble CM Rekha Gupta ji for this insightful conversation and for championing the cause of sports development," she added.
