Mumbai, Mar 12 (UNI) To maintain public peace and safety during upcoming Holi, Dhulivandan and Rang Panchami celebrations, the city police on Wednesday issued an advisory announcing restrictions for its citizens.
The order forbids people from spraying colours and water on pedestrians, as well as singing obscene songs in public from March 12-18.
The order, issued by Akbar Pathan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, further stipulates that any individual found violating these restrictions, or aiding in the violation, will face legal action under Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
