Blackbucks arrive in Mumbai Zoo

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) A set of three new blackbucks has arrived at the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Botanical Garden, popularly known as the Byculla zoo or Rani Baug, which were donated by the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, Katraj, Pune, said an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday.
After almost six years they arrived in Mumbai zoo which will be available for public viewing as they are in quarantine since after April 3 when they arrived.
"It is part of our routine procedure to allow them to adjust to the new environment and for us to ensure they are free of diseases. Once the doctors give a go-ahead, we will open them for public viewing," officials added.
