Maha: Solapur police bust inter-district gang, recover 12 lakh in stolen assets; Sr officers lauded

Solapur, June 18 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, Solapur Police apprehended three inter-district criminals linked to eight serious offences, recovering stolen valuables worth Rs 12 lakh,an official confirmed on Wednesday. .
The operation drew high praise from Special Inspector General (Kolhapur Range) Sunil Phulari, who commended the Local Crime Branch (LCB) for its exemplary efficiency, an official confirmed.
The accused—identified as Chaitanya alias Bhaiyya Pandurang Shelke (23) of Dharshiv, Karan Shivaji Bhosale (22) of Barshi, and Maruti Naganath Mane of Dharshiv—were involved in four daring robberies, three vehicle thefts, and one Arms Act violation.
Police seized two country-made pistols, three live cartridges, gold ornaments (58 grams), two cars, three motorcycles, and three mobile phones during the operation.
Solapur SP Atul Kulkarni, along with Additional SP Preetam Yawalkar, honoured the LCB team led by Senior PI Suresh Nimbalkar. Recognised personnel include PSI Nagannath Khune (Sulpune), API Khwaja Mujawar (Sulpune), Constables Dhanaji Gade, Mohan Mansawale, Sagar Dhore Patil, Akshay Dongre, and Samir Sheikh.
IG Phulari emphasised, "This crackdown reflects our zero-tolerance policy against organised crime. Solapur’s team has set a benchmark for inter-district coordination."
