Interfaith dialogue essential to achieve goal of developed nation: Maha Guv

Mumbai, Apr 9 (UNI) Stating that the goal of a developed nation cannot be achieved without an atmosphere of peace and harmony in the society, Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan asserted on Wednesday that an interfaith dialogue will help in removing prejudices towards each other and resolving conflicts in society.
Speaking at a seminar on topic 'World Peace and Harmony through All-Religious Dialogue' organized at P L Deshpande Academy here in presence of Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, he said, "All religions are equal before the Almighty. Therefore, we should respect all religions and prayer methods."
"Maharashtra is the land of sadhus, and saints of the state have spread knowledge of the Vedas to the masses. India has welcomed all religions since time immemorial. Four religions were born in India and none of the Parsis, Jews, Muslims were treated badly on the basis of religion in the country," the Governor said.
