Mumbai, Mar 15 (UNI) A Sessions court in neighbouring Thane city had rejected the bail application filed by a woman who was arrested under section 483 of BNSS Act, several POCSO charges along with several other sections under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (PITA) charges for allegedly pushing her daughter in prostitution, a lawyer said here on Saturday.
The court while rejecting the application held that accused Yashi Rajiv Mehra (name changed) was involved in allegedly trafficking her own child and if released on bail, she is bound to commit similar offence with other young girls and therefore rejected her bail plea.
The offence is serious, as applicant had engaged her own daughter for commission of offence. In such
circumstances, if the applicant is released on bail, again she would be involved in similar type of business activity and would supply the minor girls.
"Therefore, in my considered view, this is not a fit case to release the applicant on bail," the court held while rejecting the bail application.
