Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is an inspiration for the country: Amit Shah

Pune, Apr 12 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is an inspiration for the country and the world.
Addressing a programme at Raigad on the occasion of the 345th death anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Union Home Minister said:
"I bow to Rajmata Jijau. She not only gave birth to Shivaji, but also gave the idea of Swaraj to the child Shivaji. Rajmata Jijau did the work of creating the founder of Hindavi Swarajya. When I greeted Shivaji at the place where the golden throne was, the emotions that surged in my heart cannot be expressed in words," said Amit Shah.
"Maharaj dedicated his life for Swarajya and Swadharma, and the work of transforming Maharashtra, which was surrounded by Adilshahi and Nizamshahi, into Hindavi Swarajya," said Shah.
"After that, the Marathas put up saffron flags without fear of arrest. At the time of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's birth, Maharashtra was immersed in darkness. People began to consider talking about Swadharma and Swarajya a crime. But Shivaji took a pledge to establish Swarajya and to hoist the saffron flag. I have read the biographies of many heroes till now. But I have not seen such courage in any of them," said the Union Home Minister.

"I consider it my fortune to have been invited to this program on the death anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did not have wealth, the past was not with him, he had no idea about the future. But he created it with the concept of Swarajya and gradually ended the Mughal rule that had been going on for 100 years.
"When Shivaji Maharaj's followers reached the point of arrest, when they reached Tamil Nadu and Bengal, people sighed that now our country, our culture has been saved. Let us resolve today that when 100 years of independence are completed, our country will be number one on all fronts," he added.
"These thoughts were created by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Jijau planted the seed of Swarajya in Chhatrapati Shivaji. Later, it became a banyan tree. By the time Aurangzeb came after Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, Rajaram Maharaj, Tara Rani, Santaji, Dhanaji all fought and their tombs were built here," Shah added.
Among those present on the stage with the Union Home Minister were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and senior state leaders Udayanraje Bhosale and Ashish Shelar.
