Mumbai, Apr 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of Mumbaikars for the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, key 26/11 terror attacks plotter.
Rana was brought to India from the US on Thursday.
The Chief Minister said: "I am very happy that Tahawwur Rana, one of the accused and conspirators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, has been brought to India. For this, I thank the Prime Minister on behalf of Mumbaikars.
"Kasab was hanged as per the law. But the conspirator was not in our custody. He is now with the NIA and they are investigating the case. If we need any information, we will take it from the NIA and if they need any help, we will provide it through the Mumbai Police," said Fadnavis.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar said Rana's arrest will be crucial in finding out the "real" mastermind behind the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.
