Shinde helps woman awaiting kidney transplant

Jalgaon (Maharashtra), June 7 ( UNI) Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde helped a woman awaiting a kidney transplant and brought her in his chartered plane to Mumbai from Jalgaon, Shinde's office said on Saturday.
It said Shinde had come to Muktainagar to attend the Sant Muktabai Palkhi departure ceremony. While returning to Mumbai from there, his flight was slightly delayed after reaching the airport. However, this delay turned out to be life-saving for a woman, said Deputy Chief Minister office (DCMO) in a statement.
Sheetal Borde from Jalgaon district was suffering from a kidney disease. Sheetal had to reach Mumbai immediately for the transplant surgery. However, before reaching the airport, she came to know that the plane going to Mumbai had left. It became impossible for her to reach Mumbai on time.
However, she learned that Shinde's chartered plane was going to Mumbai from Jalgaon airport. Borde conveyed her problem to the people present at the airport. They conveyed the matter to Minister Girish Mahajan, then Mahajan requested Shinde to take the woman and her husband to Mumbai in his plane, said DCMO.
Shinde agreed and brought the woman and her husband to Mumbai in his chartered plane. During the journey, he spoke to the woman and inquired about the treatment she was undergoing. Also, upon reaching Mumbai, he provided a special ambulance for her and admitted the woman to the hospital, said Jalgaon guardian minister Gulabrao Patil.
