Maha: NDRF team arrives in Sangli

Sangli, May 28 (UNI) A team of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) arrived here on Wednesday to assist in relief and rescue work during heavy rains of the monsoon season in the district.
Ajay Pawar, chief executive officer of the district disaster management authority and resident deputy collector in-charge, said in a press release that in view of heavy pre-monsoon rainfall and coming monsoon season, a 24-member NDRF team, led by Santosh Kumar Tiwari, arrived in the district this evening to prevent possible damage to life and property due to heavy rainfall.
The team has boats, life jackets, life rings, ropes and other necessary materials for search and rescue work.
