Tel Aviv, Mar 2 (UNI) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent his military secretary, Maj. Gen. Roman Gofman, to Moscow to coordinate and strengthen cooperation, taking into account security interests, the Ynet portal reported on Saturday, citing its sources.
Gofman is expected to hold a series of meetings on security issues, the publication said.
According to the portal, another goal of the trip will be a request to Russia to put pressure on Palestinian movement Hamas through intermediaries to advance a deal to release Israeli hostages from the Gaza Strip, among whom is still being held, including the son of a Russian citizen, Maxim Kharkin.
