Pope Francis to be discharged from hospital today - Doctors

Vatican City, Mar 23 (UNI) Pope Francis, who is continuing to recover from double pneumonia, will be discharged from Rome's Gemelli hospital on Sunday, one of his doctors and the director of the hospital's medical-surgical department, Sergio Alfieri, has said.
"Let's start with the good news that the whole world has been waiting for: Tomorrow the pope will be discharged and will return to the Casa Santa Marta [his residence in Vatican City]," Alfieri told a briefing at Gemelli on Saturday.
The 88-year-old pontiff was prescribed a therapy, the doctor added.
"The pope will be discharged in a condition that has been stable for two weeks. The medical team has prescribed a continuation of partial pharmacological treatment, which he will take orally for a long time. And the recommendation to rest during recovery for at least two weeks is very important," Alfieri said.
Holy See spokesman Matteo Bruni said that Francis would address the public from a hospital window on Sunday.
"The pope will address from the window with a brief greeting and blessing from the hospital, and then, as soon as it is possible, he will go to the Casa Santa Marta," Bruni told the briefing.
The pontiff was admitted to the hospital on February 14 where he was diagnosed with a respiratory infection and double pneumonia.
