Ankara expects Ukraine, US to sign agreement on resources, fund: Turkish FM

Ankara, Feb 27 (UNI) Turkey expects Ukraine and the United States to sign an agreement on rare earth resources and a support fund, but the way it will affect the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict remains to be seen, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Thursday.
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said that as part of the mineral agreement with Ukraine, the US will get back all the money already sent to Kiev and even considerably more.
"On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Washington. As you know, the new US administration is pushing for the repayment of the assistance provided to Ukraine. Therefore, we expect that a corresponding agreement will be signed. Time will show how much this will affect the settlement process, as you know, the Ukrainian side is counting on security guarantees," Fidan told a press conference in Ankara.
