Washington, Mar 6 (UNI) The United States suspended all military aid to Ukraine on Monday evening, a US Defense Department spokesperson told RIA Novosti.
"At 6pm Monday night [23:00 GMT], the order to pause all aid for Ukraine was given to the DOD [US Department of Defense], including aid that was enroute," the spokesperson said.
At the same time, the spokesperson refused to comment on reports that Washington had stopped providing intelligence to Kiev.
US media reported this week, citing White House officials, that the US had suspended all military aid for Ukraine until Kiev proved its commitment to holding peace talks. Senior White House adviser Jason Miller said this was part of US President Donald Trump's "carrot and stick" strategy to end the three-year conflict in Ukraine. On Wednesday, US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz confirmed that there was a "pause" in US military aid for Ukraine and said it could be lifted if negotiations on the rare earths deal succeed.
