Ukraine to lose half its weapon stock without US support – Reports

Moscow, Feb 25 (UNI) Ukraine will lose about half its arms, including "most effective" ones, if the United States stops sending military aid, Politico reported on Tuesday, citing Ben Barry, a senior fellow for land warfare at the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
Some US military systems, such as Abrams tanks and Patriot air defense systems, could potentially be replaced with European alternatives like German-made Leopards, IRIS-Ts and Norway's NASAMS air defense systems, the news website reported.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys told Politico that Europe had no substitutes for certain types of weaponry and equipment, such as some long-range munitions.
