Patna, Apr 02 (UNI) Amid raging controversy over Waqf Board Amendment Bill, the JD(U) on Wednesday made it clear that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar does not need any certificate of secularism from the RJD.
Senior JD(U) leader and Bihar Rural Development Minister Shrawan Kumar told media persons here that Chief Minister Kumar was not required to procure certificate of secularism for him from RJD. Commitment of Kumar for Muslims and other minorities, was known to all in Bihar and also across the country, he added.
" Chief Minister Kumar has done lot of works for Muslims in Bihar and they are also aware of ground realities, " the JD(U) leader said and added that RJD leaders had no right to raise question on secularism of Chief Minister Kumar. What was the condition of Muslims during RJD regime in Bihar, was also known to all, he pointed out.
As it is, RJD leaders Tejaswi Prasad Yadav and Miss Bharti had raised question on Chief Minister Kumar for equivocal stand of JD(U) on Waqf Board Amendment Bill presented in parliament.
Muslim bodies including All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had also demanded from Chief Minister Kumar to stall the bill in parliament, using his political influence.
