Godiya (Maharashtra), May 12 (UNI) There is no proposal to merge the two groups of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) yet, said NCP (Ajit Pawar) group leader Praful Patel.
"It is being discussed only in the media, and it is not right for me to express my personal views on this", said the Rajya Sabha MP.
"We will discuss all key issues within the party. If something comes up in that discussion, then it will be right to talk about it," he added.
The NCP split occurred on July 2, 2023, when Ajit Pawar, along with several other party leaders, broke away from the NCP led by his uncle Sharad Pawar, and joined the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Maharashtra.
Speculation over the two sides joining hands received some momentum a few days ago when NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar said any such decision would be taken by the next generation leaders, such as his daughter Baramati MP Supriya Sule. NCP state chief Sunil Tatkare said if any such proposal comes to them, the party would take it up in its internal forum.
