Odisha Yatri crosses 2 lakh trips, Drivers earn over Rs 2 Crore

Bhubaneswar, May 22 (UNI) Over 10,000 drivers have collectively earned more than Rs 2 crore through the Odisha Yatri app, launched by the State Transport Department five months ago.
Since the government-run cab service does not charge any commission, it continues to attract a growing number of drivers, the State Transport Department said in an official release.
Crossing the 2 lakh trip milestone is more than just a numerical achievement — it reflects the
trust the people of Odisha have placed in a mobility solution designed with their needs in mind.
“The Odisha Yatri app is committed to neutrality, cleanliness, and safety,” said Usha Padhi,
Principal Secretary, Commerce and Transport, Housing and Urban Development Department.
Launched in January this year, the app allows drivers to operate without paying any commission, encouraging more registrations on the platform.
To date, over 1.61 lakh rides have been completed in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack alone. The capital city sees the highest number of bookings, with more than 10.5 lakh people having searched the app.
Currently, over 1.24 lakh users have registered in Bhubaneswar, while Cuttack has over 37,000 registered users.
The Transport Department now aims to expand the Odisha Yatri platform to other districts across the state and establish a strong presence at the national level.
